Garden Assistant: 2 hours a week, on-going seasonal work
I’m looking for someone to help me with the more physical tasks in both my home garden as well as in my horticulture business. This is for 2 hours a week, every week, likely to be on-going.
The work involves weeding, light digging, and washing pots and trays, as well as other duties if needed. It involves kneeling and bending, so strong knees and back are a must.
Location: Kerikeri Inlet Road, 1.5km from Kerikeri CBD.
The day of the week to be worked will be discussed, but a Thursday afternoon would be ideal. Paying $23 per hour - you will need to invoice me (a handwritten docket or an email is fine - I can help draft something), and payment will be made promptly by direct credit.
The successful applicant will be able to work unsupervised, reliable, work at a reasonably fast pace, and have initiative and common sense. I will usually be around to answer questions, but I will be busy in my other work so self-motivation and a good work ethic are a must.
You are responsible for your own tax payments (you’re essentially working as a contractor, not an employee).
You will need to provide your own gloves, dust mask/respirator, and any other personal protective equipment you deem necessary. Materials you may come into contact with include compost/growing mix and organic/natural fertilisers, as well as plant matter.
How to apply
To apply, please email email@example.com with the subject line: Leaf Produce Garden Assistant.
Tell me in the email why you’d be well suited for the role. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
Start the job on a trial basis and see how it works out for the both of us.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
CorneliaPS. You’d need to be OK with my two small, friendly dogs on the property.
