Pineapple Lily

Eucomis sp.

Called a pineapple lily because of the flowers (note: they are not actual pineapples, and not edible!). The flowers last for several weeks.

Likes a sunny position in well-drained soil. It tolerates partial shade, but the best flower and foliage colours are produced in full sun. Suitable for growing in containers – and several plants together create an attractive display.

Note that the flowers and foliage completely die back over winter – don’t be alarmed! The plant will re-grow in Spring.

At the time of writing this listing, one plant is approximately 14cm tall; the other approximately 24cm tall (pictured).
