It’s tomato time!
Our tomatoes are cranking and taste just as good as they look!
A mixed punnet for $2 will get you some nice big tomatoes (great for salads and sauces), as well as some yummy little cherry tomatoes.
Have you tried green garlic yet?
What is green garlic, you may be asking?
Green garlic is freshly-dug garlic that hasn’t been cured (dried) – and that means you can use the whole thing (including the stem)… no more peeling fiddly little cloves!

Green garlic is a ‘thing’ in Europe, but isn’t so widely known in NZ… but kiwis are definitely loving it, as I’m getting more and more people coming to my market stall, saying “I bought green garlic from you, and it was really yummy, so now I want more!”
It’s just $2 a bunch, and is for immediate use (i.e. it’s not suitable for storing/drying). And you can use it for all the things you’d normally use garlic for: garlic bread, stir fries, stews, sauces. If you let it cook for a while, the flavour will be mild. So if you prefer your garlic to have a bit of a kick, add it into your recipe at the end, so the flavours stay intact.
Enjoy!
Summer = yummy salads
Healthy lunches (and dinners) are easy with fresh, yummy lettuces from Leaf Produce.
Our lettuces are grown in the ground for extra flavour – and you can taste the difference over hydroponic lettuces. Only natural sprays have been used.

As well as crisp, sweet cos lettuces we have a selection of fancy lettuces – come to the Leaf Produce stall at The Old Packhouse Market nice and early for the best selection!
If you’re super quick, you might even be able to grab some wild rocket (Arugula) – but hurry, this always sells out quickly.
Lettuce pots
For a regular supply of lettuce, our big $4 pots contain 2 lettuces plus Mizuna. Just keep picking the outer leaves and the lettuces will re-grow.
Vegetables
Radishes make a colourful and crunch addition to a salad. Our are freshly picked, grown with only natural sprays, and really yummy. $2 a bunch.
Cucumbers: both green cucumbers and apple cucumbers are available.
